Have you ever heard of Green Allies? Green Allies is a student-run nonprofit organization from all over the area that aims to improve our environment. They do various activities, like hosting sustainability conferences to promote sustainability to students in neighboring schools or even in schools across the country. For example, Green Allies held a gala as a fundraiser for their organization. Many supporters and family members came out to have dinner and participate in raffles and games. At each table, they had two members on the leadership team to talk with guests, allowing them to have a personal conversation with the people supporting their message. All of their events are completely student-run, so most of them are used to promote their student leadership. They are also currently selling eco-friendly gifts during the holiday season! If you are thinking of joining Green Allies, they have many events throughout the year that you can volunteer for, even if you aren’t on the leadership team. If you want to join the leadership team, they give you two opportunities: you can join at the start of the calendar year or at the start of the school year.
