Pottsgrove High School’s girls’ varsity soccer team defeated Phoenixville in a very close game on their senior night. The final score was 1-0, which the girls fought hard to achieve. Brianna Thorum (junior), Ella Smith (junior), Keleigh Nihart (senior), Lily Shuster (senior), Jenna Kemps (senior), Emma Knox (senior), Lexi Leaman (senior), Zoe Winterbottom (senior), Julia D’Agostino (senior), Peyton Shoemaker (senior), and Leah Henzes (senior) were all starters. All nine seniors started on the field, including Leah Henzes who has an ACL injury. She tapped the ball to start the game, while Thorum tapped the ball into the net, scoring the goal that led the lady falcons to victory.

The girls’ varsity soccer team had nothing but good things to say about that game and the night in general. Cece Hires (sophomore) commented on the game when she was asked about how it went. She said, “‘We all played our hardest and put our all into that game to make sure that our seniors had a memorable night.’” The underclassmen did just that. They made senior night a night to remember for the class of 2023. When asked about the game, Nihart could only express her gratitude towards the underclassmen, “‘Thank you to all the underclassmen who made it so special. I love you guys.’” The senior night game was one of the last games that the girls had to play, so they went out with a bang. To view how the rest of the girls’ season went click here
