Cross Country

The Pottsgrove cross country team scored high enough to get an invitation to a meet at Paul Short. This meet is hard to get into, as invitations only get sent out to the highest scoring schools. At the meet, there were high schools and colleges, so the competition was fierce. The Pottsgrove students scored relatively high in the race, and most of them scored new personal records.

Out of the 451 people in the boys race, Daniel Korman placed 74th, Xavier Walker placed 143rd, and Issac Kumph placed 182nd. Three of our Pottsgrove boys scored in the low 200s, and three others scored in the high 300s. There were 370 in total for the girls race, and the 4 Pottsgrove girls scored high. Noelle Barone had the highest placement out of the Pottsgrove girls, coming in 134th place. Next were Mia Bollman in 267th, Arya Mapp in 275th, and Lauren Vaughn in 281st.

When asked the question, “How well do you think you’ll do at districts and PACs?” Shea Reisman, a boy on the team, said, “PACs and Districts use the same course at Lehigh, so as long as it’s cool and not hot we should do fine. I think we’ll do well at PACs and even better at Districts, maybe even good enough to go to States.” When asked the same question, Louis Marstellar, another boy on the team, said, “I think we have a good chance at winning Districts, but not at PACs because they have a lot more people.”

The cross country team this year has a win-loss ratio of 3-2, and they only have PACs and Districts left. The cross country team works very hard and it will be exciting to see how they score at these last two meets.
