The Met Gala: Show-Stopping Outfits

Madison Porter

The Met Gala or Met Ball is referred to as “fashion’s biggest night out.“ This lavish event is a fundraising benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The red carpet is immensely talked about and recorded. Vogue and Anna Wintour organize this extravagant and pricey experience. Celebrities incorporated the theme of Gilded Glamor into their classy looks. Not all stayed on the theme here are a few who did. Billie Eilish wore a beautiful custom Gucci corset gown. An ivory dress with green lace and a black choker. Olivia Rodrigo wore a lilac metal mesh Versace dress topped with butterflies in her hair. Blake Lively wore a show-stopping Versace dress, a shimmering gold gown with a bow inspired by the statue of liberty. You untie the bow revealing a blue train inspired by the constellation decor at Grand Central Station. Kim Kardashian surprised us all with the iconic “Happy Birthday. Mr. President” dress. Marilyn Monroe wore it 60 years ago when she sang Happy Birthday to President John F. Kennedy in 1962. Overall only a few people stood out at the Met Gala 2022.
