In late October, BigHit Music announced that the members of BTS would finally be fulfilling their military service. South Korea requires all able-bodied men between the ages of 18 and 28 years to serve for at least 18 months. A law was recently passed allowing people who “excel in popular culture and art” to postpone their enlistment until they are 30 years old. Due to the oldest member, Jin, turning 30 this year and their recent break from group activities, the members have now decided to serve. Each member is set to release a solo project before enlisting, giving fans something to look forward to. The country’s defense minister also stated that BTS might still be able to perform overseas while serving in the military. After everyone’s service is complete, BTS should come back together in 2025!
