Misrach Ewunetie

Misrach Ewunetie, a 20-year-old Princeton student, was found dead on Thursday, October 20th, after being missing since the 14th. Her body was found around 1 p.m. on the school campus, hidden away behind the tennis courts. There are no signs of any criminal activity or injury causing this death, and the autopsy will reveal her true cause of death. Misrach’s brother, Universe, described her as a “beautiful soul” and someone who “cares about people beyond herself”. During the investigation, Universe urged the police to keep his family updated on the case, because they were “kept in the dark” during the search for Misrach. The University is planning to bring students together in remembrance of Misrach.

Misrach was an immigrant from Ethiopia, whose family settled in Ohio. Misrach attended Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School and was at the top of her class. The high school’s community is saddened by the loss and is doing what they can to help Misrach’s family. In Princeton’s statement, the Vice President wrote “Princeton is a close-knit community, and we mourn Misrach together”. The University also stated that after close examination, by state and local law enforcement, they believe there are no threats or danger on campus or in the surrounding areas. Misrach’s family never liked the idea of her going to school at Princeton, because of how far away it is. They preferred a school closer to home that would still give her a great education. In the coming weeks, we will learn more about this sudden tragedy.
