Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard

Recently, the actor, Johnny Depp had taken a witness stand against Amber Heard, Depp’s former spouse, who allegedly accused him of abusing her during their marriage. Most people know that in 2018, Heard had written about her experience with abuse, stating “I became a public figure representing domestic abuse, and I felt the full force of our culture’s wrath for women who speak out.” It didn’t directly mention his name, however, it was supposed to be indirectly directed to him. The trial in Virginia’s Fairfax County is scheduled to last many weeks, because The Washington Post’s online editions are produced through servers in the county. A Fairfax judge concluded in 2019 that Depp was within his rights to pursue the case there. (all stated on today.com)

Depp told the court on Tuesday that he was “obsessed with the truth” and that he never hit his ex-wife, even though they had a falling out. He spent very little time with Heard, whom he thought was the ideal match for him at the start of their relationship. When Depp violated his pattern or didn’t want to go to bed at the same time as Heard, he began to detect “strange” reactions from her. “He had said that one incident in which he took off his boots after work, upsetting Heard, who said that it was her ‘job’ after she had done so every day he returned home from work”, stated on today.com.

In opening arguments last week, Depp’s lawyers said that Heard destroyed his reputation by “choosing to lie about him for her own personal profit.”

Heard’s lawyers retaliated, characterizing Depp as an alcoholic and substance abuser out for vengeance.

In short, the case, Depp vs. Heard has been branching out for numerous amount of days with some uncomfortable information on both sides. Hopefully, we soon can get a verdict on this case!
