PGHS Phone Rule

PGHS Phone Rule

No more phones during class!? Pottsgrove High School recently banned students from having their phones out during class. If the class has started, you’re required to put them away until further notice. Students have had many different reactions while finding this out.

Michael Rosado, a freshman in PGHS, finds this new rule useless. “Many students are not going to follow through with this, they’re going to find ways to sneak or hide it.” Students for years have found ways to hide phones. Whether that’s under the desk, behind a book-bag, or even behind a laptop. Even though this is a new official rule, will students follow it?

A way this could benefit us is our grades. Many students fail classes due to their phone being out. They have an urge to check it every so often and could miss a certain direction, or problem, that could’ve helped them in the end. This rule could have kids falling back into old habits, before Covid, where they know phones aren’t top priority. Will this rule actually work? I guess we’ll find out soon!
