Gabrielle Petito was a 22 year old woman who disappeared on August 30, 2021, while on a trip across the United States with her fiance at the time of her disappearance. On August 12, 2021 there was an altercation between Brian and Gabby that got physical. Brian was hitchhiking alone on August 29th, he returned home without Gabby on September 1st. Gabby’s parents filed a missing person’s report with Suffolk County on September 11th. Brian was named a person of interest on September 15th. Remains were found and identified as Gabby, her manner of death is homicide. Police executed a search on Brian’s home, an arrest warrant was issued with the unauthorized use of a debit card. There’s possible sightings of Brian over the weeks, none are confirmed. A candlelight vigil was held for Gabby in her hometown of Blue Point, New York on September 24th.
