Vaping Swept Across High Schools

Vaping is swept across the U.S, targeting mostly teens. Between 2011 and 2018, the number of High School students increased from 1.5 percent to 20.8 percent. Kids in all different highschools have been vaping more and more. 1 in 5 US High School Students Now Vapes: CDC  It’s gotten so bad that we’ve had to lock the bathroom during certain class periods.  An anonymous source said that, “I started vaping as a way of coping with stressful situations and now I can’t stop.” The percentage of seniors who had reported vaping has rose from 38.8 percent to 42.5 percent in 2017. More than one in four highschool students vape and among highschool students 27.5 percent reported using a vape within the previous thirty days, up from 20.8 percent in 2018. Some schools are now even offering money to students if they tell the school whos vaping It can be up to 50 dollars. Teens are now putting marijuana in empty juul pods to get high. Along with this, dab pens are now very popular with teens in highschool. A dab pen is a pen style vaporizer for cannabis that is made with wax. Most kids get their dab pens off the streets, which can be very dangerous when you don’t know what that person is putting into them. Professional manufactures have been switching from using residual chemicals to safer methods by using carbon dioxide, but when you buy unlabeled carts off the street, who knows what’s getting put into them. “I’ve tried to quit three times and I still haven’t quit yet,” said an anonymous student. Vaping has been swept all across the U.S and it’s becoming a real issue within schools and teens everywhere and it needs to be stopped.CDC says teen vaping surges to more than 1 in 4 high school students.
