When entering Pottsgrove High School you’re immediately greeted by the amazing, caring, and approachable Mrs. Tancredi. She prides herself on being approachable and very welcoming to strangers, even her coworkers would describe her as “the mom” of the school. You may be wondering, how she became Pottsgrove’s secretary, well it started about 17 years ago, when she was in need of a job to get herself by. Mrs. Tancredi’s dad suggested she should work at Pottsgrove at least for a short term, not knowing that after a few years “short term” was in her rearview. Mrs. Tancredi started off as a custodian, then a duty aide, and now the secretary. The job of being the secretary came with so many memories and heartfelt moments for Mrs.Tancredi. The class of 20 had, in her words, “real characters”. Working in the main office, your job is to work side by side with the principal. Mrs. Tancredi suggested more mental health awareness and approached it with kindness and respect. She believes not enough attention is being brought to this topic when it’s one of the most important things. Even though she found a home in our office, this wasn’t always the plan, she actually went to Tyler School of Art to embrace her artistic side. She always believed that she would be a social worker, but her plans changed. I think I can say for everyone, we’re all so happy she landed in our nest. There are so many ways to describe our school, but I believe it would be best to hear from Mrs. Tancredi, in her words,
“I can say there’s never a boring moment no matter where you are located in the school.” In so many ways Mrs. Tancredi has been a blessing addition and an outstanding role model to the Pottsgrove High School community.
