There are many negative issues around the world, especially in high school communities. 3 years ago, the club, Aevidum, was introduced to PGHS students, Aevidum stands for “I got your back”. Mr. Desiderio and Mrs. Berwager, the club’s advisors, state that the goal of this club is to shatter the silence and the negative stigma surrounding mental health and to also focus on paying it forward with kindness and positivity. There are many mental health issues among teenagers around the world. Aevidum is now in 300 different schools in the state of Pennsylvania, the club harnesses peer-to-peer connections through topics that teens truly relate to and connect on which can, and will, build social skills, new friendships, confidence, and better self-care. If you join Aevidum you will experience going on field trips to other schools where you present what the club at your school has accomplished, you will also host fundraisers and community service projects. In the upcoming years, Mr. Desiderio and Mrs. Berwager expect to see the club reach a 35% rise in club members and to encourage other schools in the PAC to build stronger relationships with others in the community. Aevidum will make remarkable impacts on not just the PGHS community but in different schools around the world.
