On Saturday, November 2nd, The Carousel At Pottstown hosted the nonprofit Green Allies for their annual Gala. Gracie’s 21st Century Cafe catered to the event and was sponsored by Sunflower Cafe. In addition to the dinner, Green Allies held a silent auction to raise money for its nonprofit. With over 60 attendees and thousands of dollars in donations, this was an amazing event to attend and participate in.
The night started with people filing in at around 4:45 to get started, the festivities continued with amazing speeches from various board members explaining the Green Allies’ motive. Attendees walked around to bid in the silent auction, looked at the multiple banners, and talked to members, displaying the programs Green Allies offers. After enjoying dinner, the carousel sprung to life. The night was rounded out with more fun, a 50/50 raffle, delightful deserts, wonderful music by Drew Nugent and the Midnight Society, and all highlighted by the beautiful carousel. Besides the amazing event, it was by the students for the students at Green Allies. Executive Director of Green Allies, Ken Hamilton had the opportunity to explain the motives behind the student leaders at Green Allies. His speech touched the audience, ending the night by warming hearts. With the band and caterers packing up, people placing final biddings, and students cleaning up, the night was coming to a close. This was an astonishing event, displaying the wonders of Green Allies. Visit their Website at GreenAllies.org to support and attend upcoming events.
