The trilogy of A Good Girls Guide To Murder wraps up with the last book As Good As Dead. This book wraps up the beginning of all that had happened throughout the first two books. Holly Jackson said while writing her books “I’m still in my little room typing away at stories. But when you actually think about how many people have read the books you could drive yourself into an existential abyss.”
The book As Good As Dead Goes into detail about all the events happening before A Good Girls Guide To Murder affected how and why the events in the book happened. It tells the real story of why Andie Bell did all the things she did even though for all the hard work she did it still didn’t end well for her. The plot of the book goes like this; After witnessing Charlie murdering Stanley Forbes (Jack Brunswick was his real name) she is still traumatized and trying to cope with it. By this time she is 18 and headed off to Columbia in a few weeks for college, she recently had some weird occurrences she didn’t think about besides trolls on social media but when she discovers she has a serial killer as a stalker, in her mind, if she solves this case she will be fixed so it’s all fun and games until he takes her and she commits a murder. Then proceeds to frame it on her enemy Max Hastings because she wants all of the bad elements to stop so, she pins it on Max.
I thought the book was very well written in the way Holly Jackson wrote this book. She included plot twists and suspense; plus very good characters to fit this whole story. Another great thing about this book is the relationship between the characters especially Ravi and Pip’s and how he would basically do anything for her because he’s team Ravi and Pip. Holly Jackson made Ravi’s character help hide a body with her and to an extent help cover up the murder.
The only thing I don’t like about this book is the way she ends this book because it doesn’t say anything about Pip and Ravi ever getting back together. It just says in bubble text “Hey Sarge remember me”. Many readers agree with saying that they didn’t think this was the way the book should have ended.
Even though the book ended this way it is still a very good book and an extremely popular read for teenagers. The Booktok has these books listed on top for mystery and thriller reads. So if you are interested in reading this book start with A Good Girls Guide To Murder then Good Girl Bad Blood, and finally As Good As Dead.
