You can find Pottsgrove’s most enthusiastic and talented dancer, Mr. Sheehan, hiding in the corner of the science wing in room 14. He has been teaching here for 10 years! Mr. Sheehan graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a Biology degree. Though he originally wanted to pursue a medical career, he decided to teach and show his love for sharing knowledge. He also gets free food here. If Mr. Sheehan had to teach another class, he would teach Trigonometry. Mr. Sheehan’s biggest inspiration for teaching was a friend from high school who told him he would be good at it, and his own teachers who were always kind and uplifting. Apart from being a great dancer and teacher, Mr. Sheehan is a great person. Senior Tia Gilbert comments, “He finds a way to make people smile or laugh, even if they are having a bad day”.
His Message To You
Mr. Sheehan’s favorite quote is one he read in a book a long time ago, which he can’t remember the name of, but it goes, “Life is good and good vibes are contagious”. If you know anything about Mr. Sheehan, he certainly lives up to this quote as you may find him dancing at prom or singing in his classroom. But, above all, Mr. Sheehan hopes his students will learn how to enjoy school from him and not be too serious. Just listen to his students’ statements, Junior JT Muller says, “Best chemistry teacher I’ve ever had, also the only chemistry teacher I’ve ever had”—very convincing stuff.
Outside of School
From biking around the world to recording a podcast, Mr. Sheehan does it all. His favorite place to bike through is Europe. He finds adventure in traveling with his friends to places they have never been before on bikes to take in the scenery and make stops at popular spots. After school, he coaches cross country at the middle school or hosts an ultimate frisbee game here at the high school. He also enjoys exercising and watching movies, which he reviews on his popular Spotify podcast, TV and Movie Trivia Podcast.
Work Besties
At work, Mr. Sheehan’s bestie is Mr. Kriebel. When asked to describe him, he responded, “A tall guy who knows how to have a good time and is just as cheap as I am”. These two are just two peas in a pod! Another work friend is Mr. R, he says, “Mr. R always comes in clutch for me and has been mowing my lawn when I’m away on bike trips”. Other honorable mentions were Ms. Willcox, who “giggles at something random”, and Mr. Sproule, who “has great taste in movies and we’re totally seeing Dune Part 2 together”.
Some Extra Facts
Mr. Sheehan is motivated to get up and go to school every day, mostly because he is a morning person, but also because of his love for science – and retirement, of course. His favorite song is, “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire. He doesn’t currently have any pets, but he has always wanted a dog named Baxter, like Ron Burgundy from Anchorman. How does Mr. Sheehan stay in shape for those bike rides? Well because he eats ice cream every single day and popcorn for dinner during the weekend. That is the diet of Pottsgrove’s favorite dancer, Mr. Sheehan.
