As the morning starts, just walking in the hallway, one might hear a voice asking “who’s in the bathroom?” and “where are you supposed to be?”. Some students avoid skipping just to not hear that voice. But that’s the littlest part of her job. As she says her favorite part of her job is interacting with the students, with her ideal impact is to help others. “There’s good days, there’s bad days, but we’ll always get through it.” When she sees a kid in Pottsgrove not having a good day, that’s what she says to help them know that you’ll always get through it, and she will help them get there. She aspires to be a person who always lifts students spirits by saying her inspiration at Pottsgrove is to put smiles on kids faces. For the past 3 years MJ has been in this school making it a better place. Her part in the school is to monitor the halls, assist students to get help if struggling, comfort students, and help administration. Before working at Pottsgrove, MJ was working with pre-k kids for 38 years, kindergarten, and lower kids, and attended the California health and sciences college. MJ says she wouldn’t change her job for anything as of now, and is perfectly content with what she has.
Before MJ makes her way to school in her blue Honda, in the morning she enjoys doing the daily Wordle, while drinking a cup of coffee. When she is in school you can also find her talking to her teacher Bestie Ms.Callwell, but when MJ’s not patrolling the halls, you can find her in her free time petting her 2 cats, Willow and Finlay. She also likes painting, and reading books. As she said “I can read 3 books a week.” Her favorite holiday is Christmas, which would explain her jolly spirits, and bright mood. During the holiday season, you can see her wearing her festive outfits to school like spooky Halloween shirts with ghosts on them and then during christmas time see her wearing green and red with snowmen, reindeer shirts and all . She expresses she wants to add cheerful spirit to the school with her festive outfits. So next time walking in the hallways make sure to see if she is in her special outfits for the holidays.
MJ is quite unique in this school, as her name is different then all the other teachers and staff. There’s no” Ms.” or “Mrs.” She goes by the very simple name MJ. As she says she doesn’t want to be called “Mrs. Lentz” and her goal is to have her name roll off the tongue easily. The name is personal to her since she is called that outside of the school building too by her loved ones and more. MJ is the best at helping others and being optimistic. These qualities help her have an amazing impact on Pottsgrove and its students, and will continue to do so.
