Spanish Club hosted “Celebration Of Día De Los Muertos” in the library on November 1 and 2. The club had stations teaching students about the Ofrenda, cempasúchil, Calaveras, and Calacas, and general information about the Day of the Dead. In addition, students could earn pieces of candy by answering Dia De Los Muertos trivia questions. At the end of the
class period, visiting classes competed in a head-to-head trivia battle. The stakes were high as the winning team went home with an amazing, authentic Spanish Chuppa Chuppa lollipop! The Spanish Club hosted this event to educate other students in Pottsgrove High School about Día de los Muertos and why it is important to the Spanish heritage. Students commented on what their thoughts were on the celebration in the library saying, “It was creative and colorful!” Another student commented that “It was amazing to learn about another culture”. Spanish club is very gracious and thankful for the amount of classes that showed up. Mrs. Calldwell said, “I am very thankful for my Spanish
classes and the Spanish club members who volunteered to help”. The celebration of “Día De Los Muertos” was a huge success and Pottsgrove High School hopes to see more upcoming events from the Spanish Club and many more clubs to come. Shoutout to the Spanish Club for hosting this celebration.
