Pottsgrove High School Spring Sports Registration

Spring sports for Pottsgrove High School begin on Monday, March 6, 2023. The mandatory practices and tryouts start on this date, so make sure to attend if you plan on seriously playing a spring sport. Also, if you plan on playing, then you need to register! Click here to register. The spring sports that are available for grades 9 through 12 include baseball, softball, girls/boys lacrosse, boys tennis, and Track and Field.
The Pottsgrove School District follows the guidelines set forth by the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (P.I.A.A.). Since we follow the P.I.A.A. guidelines, students who plan on playing spring sports have to have a completed physical form dated after June 1, 2022. Click here to access the physical forms. Baseball
Sport description/skills needed- The basics include hitting a ball, catching a ball, throwing a ball, fielding a ball, and baserunning.

Softball
Sport description/skills needed- The basics include hitting a ball, catching a ball, throwing a ball, fielding a ball, and baserunning.

Girls lacrosse
Sport description/skills needed- The basics include cradling a ball with a lacrosse stick, scooping a ball with a lacrosse stick, throwing a ball with a lacrosse stick and catching a ball with a lacrosse stick. Cradling involves quickly rotating the lacrosse stick back and forth while it is upright.

Boys lacrosse
Sport description/skills needed- Boys lacrosse involves the same fundamentals as girls lacrosse, however, body-checking is involved, so be prepared for physical contact.

Boys tennis
Sport description/skills needed- The basic skills involve being able to perform forehand and backhand strokes, being able to serve, footwork, anticipation, and volleying.
