Daisy Jones & The Six is Debuting Soon!

Ellie Sheller

Mark your calendars! The show adaptation of New York Times bestselling novel, “Daisy Jones & The Six” premieres March 3rd on Amazon Prime Video! This highly anticipated show with heavy Fleetwood Mac energy stars Riley Keough, Sam Claflin, Suki Waterhouse, and more. Critically acclaimed author, Taylor Jenkins Reid, who wrote “Daisy Jones & The Six” (along with novels such as “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo”) loosely based the band in this novel off of Fleetwood Mac. Coming from Amazon themselves: “Based on the best-selling novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid, Daisy Jones & the Six is a limited musical-drama series detailing the rise and precipitous fall of a renowned rock band. In 1977, Daisy Jones & the Six were on top of the world. Fronted by two charismatic lead singers—Daisy Jones and Billy Dunne—the band had risen from obscurity to fame. And then, after a sold-out show at Chicago’s Soldier Field, they called it quits. Now, decades later, the band members finally agree to reveal the truth. This is the story of how an iconic band imploded at the height of its powers.” According to the teaser, the show will be in the likes of the film “Almost Famous” (2000). The actors had to undergo “extensive vocal training in order to embody their characters,” according to Riley Keough and Sam Claflin. Although some of the actors in the show have had no prior musical experience, they only use their own voices and play their own instruments in the show. Riley Keough has some music experience coming from a family of musicians: her grandfather being Elvis Presley, and her late mother, and singer, Lisa Marie Presley. Suki Waterhouse, who plays Karen Sirko, is also a famed musician as well as being an actress. She’s currently on “The Coolest Place in The World Tour,” selling out every major city!
