Happy November

Delaney Rice

November is the eleventh month of the year, and as we are getting closer to the holiday season lots of events, celebrations, and elections are happening.

November 1st and 2nd-  The annual celebration of Dia de Los Muertos, the Day of the Dead. It’s a two day holiday that reunites the living and the dead for a brief reunion. Families make food, ofrendas, they dance, sing and play music as a celebration for their deceased relatives.

Morning of November 8th- a total lunar eclipse that most of North America will be able to see.

November 8th- The US Senate race and Pennsylvania’s Governor race both open for voting on November eighth. The top candidates for the Pennsylvania senate race are Republican, Mehmet Oz, and Democrat, John Fetterman. The top candidates for Pennsylvania’s Governor election are Democrat, Josh Shapiro and Republican, Doug Mastriano. Stay tuned for the results of these elections and if you can, don’t forget to vote!

Evening of November 8th- Later that night you can look out your window and enjoy the full beaver moon.

November 11th- National Veterans Day, where we honor the veterans that served in the US army forces.

November 24th- Thanksgiving will be held across the US. Thanksgiving is a holiday that you look back on what you are thankful for and spend time with the close ones in your life and eat good food. Here are some popular Thanksgiving recipes you may want to try out this year! FoodNetwork.com

November 25th- The day after Thanksgiving, is maybe one of the most chaotic days of the year, Black Friday. Black Friday is a day where stores across the world discount all of their items to prepare for the holiday season. This causes stores to be overcrowded, long lines, arguing, and more.

November 28th- Luckily we have Cyber Monday. Instead of going through the chaos of in store Black Friday shopping, online shopping discounts are available as well.

Throughout the month of November, numerous music artists will be performing here in Pennsylvania, such as Flo Rida, Billy Joel, Yung Gravy, Dominic Fike and more. Check out Concerts50.com to see who else is performing this month!

Get out and enjoy the fall fun this November!
