Phillies Playoff

J.T. Muller

The Philadelphia Phillies have clinched the NL East wildcard and are facing the Atlanta Braves. In game one the Phillies want to start off by putting their trustworthy pitcher, Ranger Suarez, who has a 3.66 ERA (Earned Run Average) on the mound. The Atlanta Braves have their own set of cards in their hand too, with Max Fried who has a 2.48 ERA. Both pitchers have a low ERA. However Max Fried has a much better ERA which means it may come down to the last few innings for the pitching staff and the Phillies have just the right guy to do the job. Seranthony Domínguez who has a 3 ERA is great on the mound but the Braves have Kenley Jansen who only has a 3.38 ERA. So fortunately pitching may be our strength in the later innings, and we have an amazing offense with Bryce Harper the 3x MVP, Kyle Shwarber who leads the National League in home runs, and Jean Segura who has an average of 83% contact in all of his swings. On the defensive side of the ball, the Phillies have Alec Bohm who started off slow but since the All Star break he has arguably become the best defender at third base for the Fightins. The Phillies also have the greatest catcher in the league, being JT Realmuto, who is famous for never letting the opposing team steal second base. The Braves have some veterans of their own, however with guys who won the world series for the braves last year like Ronald Acuña Jr ,Austin Riley, and Adam Duvall with these key players excluding Freddie Freeman who was traded to the dodgers, they could go to the world series back to back but all that matters is who gets the most runs, so let the division series begin!
