Taylor Swift Announces New Album at the VMA’s
September 13, 2022
According to NBC News, Taylor Swift announced that she was releasing a new album at the MTV Video Music Awards. She shared that she was releasing her 10th album during her speech that followed her acceptance of an award for video of the year. However, she waited until midnight on August 29 to reveal the album’s name on social media. The album, “Midnights,” will be released October 21. Her previous releases first came out as digital versions, then the vinyl came out later, but the product page for her new album signifies that the vinyl will come out on the same day as every other edition.
“Midnights” is a compilation of stories from thirteen sleepless nights that were sprinkled throughout Taylor’s life. On her instagram, she wrote, “We lie awake in love and in fear, in turmoil and in tears. We stare at walls and drink until they speak back. We twist in our self-made cages and pray that we aren’t -right this minute- about to make some fateful life-altering mistake. This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams. The floors we pace and the demons we face. For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching – hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes twelve… we’ll meet ourselves.” Taylor kept her work in the studio, prior to this announcement, a secret, unlike her other recent releases. Although fans were expecting more editions in “Taylor’s Version,” this album will cover fresh, new topics, which are only slightly uncovered in Taylor’s Instagram post. Most of her album still remains a mystery, but she invites everyone to “meet her at midnight” in October. To uncover Taylor’s mysterious midnight stories listen to her album when it comes out October 21!
