The 2021 Grammys

This year, at the 63rd Grammys there were some unforgettable moments, with records set. Hosted by the comedian, Trevor Noah, the night started off with a performance from Harry Styles and he performed “Watermelon Sugar”. Some other memorable performances came from Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, and Doja Cat. Many of the songs performed throughout the night saw a big leap in sales. Rolling Stone said, “Digital album sales and song sales for the majority of artists saw the biggest percent increase on Sunday, the day of the awards show, when compared to Saturday”. This year’s Grammys have already been claimed to be the most exciting one ever.
This night also proved to have some very big wins. Beyonce became the most awarded female artist of all time, winning her 28th award. Megan Thee Stallion won her first 3 albums, one of them being Best New Artist. Harry Styles took home his first Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance. Dua Lipa took home Best Pop Vocal Album. But the biggest award of the night, Best Album went to Taylor Swift. “Taylor was one of the night’s big winners. She took Album of the Year for Folklore, becoming the first woman to win that award three times, joining Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon, and Stevie Wonder,” stated Rolling Stone. This year’s Grammys proved to be very memorable, with amazing performances and record breaking wins.
